CALL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AND ASK THEM TO DEFEND OUR CLIMATE.

The climate crisis is here and now and it’s already costing us lives, health, and dollars. The outcome of the election means all the protections we’ve fought so hard for the last few years in tackling the climate crisis—protections that save thousands of lives saved through new pollution standards, create hundreds of thousands of jobs and invest billions of dollars in clean energy—are on the line. With lots to do before the end of the year and multiple major “must-pass” bills in Congress, the next two months will be a challenge for climate progress. We’re calling on Congress to stand strong for climate and reject any attempt to use these bills to erode climate progress.

TAKE ACTION:

Calling your member of Congress is one the most powerful things you can do to affect how they vote on climate. We are joining a number of organizations in this call-in effort and hope you’ll join too.

Once you submit the form, you’ll receive an automated call with a short reminder of what you should tell your senator’s office. After that reminder, you’ll be connected to your senator’s office.

COP 29 HAS BEGUN. JOIN THE “U.S. NATIONALLY DETERMINED CONTRIBUTION” WEBINAR & CALL IN ACTION.

The Breathe Again Collaborative is inviting you to a webinar where we’ll join with individuals who share our commitment to environmental justice, held during the first week of the UN Climate Negotiations, taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan (known as COP29) and in solidarity with the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice.

It is time for countries to update their climate action pledges, or Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), for the Paris Climate Agreement process. The Biden administration has a chance to cement his legacy as the Climate President by making a strong pledge for the U.S. that includes a commitment to phase out fossil fuels at home by 2031 and to provide its fair share of funding for climate action in lower income countries. This factsheet summarizes our demands for what should be included in the U.S. NDC.

During this webinar we will review the published vision for a U.S. NDC aligned with science and justice that over 50+ climate action groups and frontline community leaders have already endorsed. Together, we’ll explore ways to move forward, strategize, and empower our communities to advocate for change. This will be a space for shared experiences, mutual support, and practical planning for the future we envision. Whether you’re a long-time advocate or just starting to engage, your voice matters, and we welcome you to join us.

Register here to virtually attend on Zoom—Thurs. 11/14 12:00pm ET (Week 1 of COP29).
